Overview
This course has the following principal aims:
- to provide broad-based knowledge and critical skills as a foundation for the practice of law, especially in regional, rural and remote Australia
- to provide students with a rich learning experience that is attentive to student needs from transition into tertiary study through to successful progression towards graduation and beyond
- to provide students with a well-designed curriculum, structured to embody the classical law curriculum (the Priestley 11 Standards), that is particularly relevant to regional, rural and remote Australia (RRR)
- to enable students to acquire a systematic knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts together with the associated skills relating to the law generally
- to enable students to apply this systematic knowledge to undertake professional work in legal and other related professions
to provide students with an ethical framework for critical and constructive engagement in the communities within which they participate - to provide access to tertiary-level study in law by flexible delivery across Australia
- to provide pathways for further studies in law at both postgraduate and higher degree by research levels
- to provide a foundation for lifelong learning

Enrolment pattern
The program is delivered online which is defined as part-time study with an enrolment pattern of 2 subjects per session. Students who wish to pursue the program on a full-time basis will need to contact the Course Administration Officer to seek Course Director approval prior to adding additional subjects.
