Overview

The aims of the course are to equip students with foundational knowledge and skills for lifelong learning, in the criminal justice practitioner context. Study will be concentrated in the following areas:

  • develop an understanding of technology and skills in its use;
    and
  • develop an understanding of the knowledge and skills of safe driving, legal and ethical practices, communication, cultural diversity, crime and policing, leadership and teamwork, work health and safety and personal resilience

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:

be able to understand and use appropriate technologies to apply knowledge of communication and communication processes for workplace and learning environments

be able to identify the needs of people and describe appropriate interactions and rapport building in diverse situations

be able to describe actions of cultural awareness in interaction and communication with others
4.
be able to identify relevant law, policy, procedure and ethical considerations in the practice of the chosen discipline

be able to identify relevant WHS policies, procedures and legislative requirements in the practice of the chosen discipline

be able to recognise and describe personal resilience strategies in the practice of the chosen discipline
