Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

be able to identify significant historical developments and the production of materials for children and young adults worldwide;

be able to evaluate and discuss the cultural, creative and aesthetic values of literature and other resources;
3.
be able to integrate support for literacy and language development into public library programs for children and young adults;
4.
be able to evaluate and apply a broad range of literacies;
5.
be able to select and use a wide variety of literature and resources, authors and creators, and genres and formats for children and young adults;
6.
be able to apply criteria to critically evaluate and select literature and other resources for children and young adults for programs and collections; and
7.
be able to assess the issues and concerns associated with the access and provision of materials in multiple formats for children and young adults.
