Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
develop, implement and/or review evidence-based management plans in consultation with the patient and others in the healthcare team;
2.
apply skills in clinical reasoning to discuss management options relevant to the needs of the patient, their carers, and the broader community;
3.
practice in a manner that aligns with legislative and regulatory requirements and ensures patient safety is protected;
4.
negotiate therapeutic goals that enhance self-management for a range of podiatry patients, recognising when it is clinically appropriate to prescribe or not to prescribe medicines;
5.
comply with applicable professional standards, codes of conduct and guidelines relevant to prescribing medicines to inform evidence-based decisions in the context of the patient’s needs.
6.
critically reflect on personal learning and the application of this learning to future professional practice.
