MODULE 1: ORGANISATIONAL POLICIES AND CARE:
The links between organisational policies and guidelines and research; andEvidence-based practice: the place of expert opinion and patient/family preferences.
MODULE 2: EVIDENCE-BASED ADVOCACY:

MODULE 4 (2 WEEKS): RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES:
Research fundamentals;Paradigms/ methodologies; andMethods.
MODULE 5: ETHICS IN RESEARCH:
Ethics in research.
MODULE 6: SAMPLING AND POPULATIONS IN RESEARCH:
Sampling and populations; andData collection.
MODULE 7: ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH:
Basic descriptive statistics;Discussion of interpretive statistics; andQualitative analysis.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
discuss the principles that contribute to maintaining a caring environment where registered nurses work;
2.
appraise research for application in health contexts;
3.
apply evidence-based practice to nursing practice in accordance with organisational policies and guidelines;
4.
identify and apply strategies to promote advocacy for people, family and communities; and
5.
satisfactorily complete the workplace learning assessment for this subject.
