Abstract
This subject focuses on healthcare workplace learning. Students will engage in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences within the healthcare setting. Within this subject, students will apply paramedic skills under supervision in a clinical setting. Detailed protocols, procedures, and pharmacology's will be used during the WIL experience.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
practice clinical skills under supervision;
2.
perform patient assessments in a range of environments that are a paramedics work setting;
3.
develop and reassess the appropriateness and real impact of treatment plans tailored to the individual patient;
4.
identify and reflect on ethical and legal issues that arise in paramedic practice and within the work intergrated learning experience; and
5.
show sensitivity towards the patient and family members by identifying and dealing with areas of potential distress while working in a clinical setting.
Enrolment restrictions
This subject is restricted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Paramedicine and Bachelor of Paramedicine (Honours).

Work integrated learning
Placement Duration 160 hours Details Students must complete clinical placement over approximately four weeks (with varying shifts of 8, 10, 12, and 14 hours) in the paramedic and/or healthcare environment.
