Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
demonstrate (evidence based) patient assessment skills required to perform primary and secondary surveys, and patient interviews;
2.
apply (evidence based) management techniques for patients requiring basic life support and/or fracture immobilisation, in the non-traumatic paramedic environment;
3.
apply the (evidence based) principles of basic scene assessment in the non-traumatic paramedic environment;
4.
accurately and safely calculate medication dosages of common medications used in paramedicine;
5.
explain basic work health and safety practices and safely perform manual handling, defibrillation, and infection control in the non-traumatic paramedic environment; and
6.
perform a verbal patient handover.
