This subject will cover the following topics: Interdisciplinary communication and effective communication in teams;Skills in therapeutic communication, counselling, negotiation, assertiveness, and collaboration;Formulate and tailoring treatment plans based upon continual patient reassessment and evaluation;Theoretical knowledge to accurately and safely calculate medication dosages of common medications;Complete accurate and compliant patient care documentation; … For more content click the Read More button below.

This subject will cover the following topics:

Interdisciplinary communication and effective communication in teams;
Skills in therapeutic communication, counselling, negotiation, assertiveness, and collaboration;
Formulate and tailoring treatment plans based upon continual patient reassessment and evaluation;
Theoretical knowledge to accurately and safely calculate medication dosages of common medications;
Complete accurate and compliant patient care documentation; and
Legal and ethical frameworks in a clinical setting.

Placement

Duration 140 hours

Details Clinical experience is a compulsory and important part of the Bachelor of Paramedicine. Students will need to complete clinical placements over 22 days (with varying shifts of 8, 10, 12 and 14 hours) in the paramedic and/or healthcare environment. Students will need to demonstrate competency in a variety of different clinical skills and tasks in order to successfully complete this placement. Set workplace learning times are given to students to complete the hours of placement. Students need to ensure that adequate preparation has been completed for the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Students attending compulsory workplace learning will incur costs associated with travel, accommodation and required resources.

If required, students will need to wear their placement uniform, helmet, safety vest, and safety glasses.
