This subject provides essential physics within the context of medical radiation science. It provides the fundamental knowledge and understanding of a wide range of topics from important physical laws and concepts relevant to medical radiation science.

Syllabus

Electrostatics, electric charge and potential;Electricity and magnetism;Alternating current;Atomic physics and semi-conductors;Solid state devices;X-rays;X-rays and gamma ray interaction with matter; andX-ray and gamma ray interaction with tissue.

Assumed knowledge

First year foundational physics subject such as PHY107.
