Abstract
In this subject we think philosophically about a range of contemporary topics in philosophy. Areas covered will include topics in ethics, philosophy of science, political philosophy, epistemology and metaphysics.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to demonstrate a grasp of basic philosophical techniques of analysis and argument;
2.
be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the practice of addressing philosophical and ethical problems; and
3.
be able to apply their skills of analysis and argument and their understanding of theories to the clarification and resolution of the particular philosophical and ethical problems/issues addressed in the Syllabus.
