The construction of difference and how differences between people are mobilised are key challenges facing leaders today. This subject explores theories of difference and diversity from an organisational and societal perspective as well as critical and philosophical perspectives. It also examines interdisciplinary leadership concepts, perspectives, and theories. Students will consider the challenges, drivers and strategic issues leaders face when working interculturally and globally. Issues of structural, cognitive and behavioural diversity will be explored through theory, case studies and critical reflection. Opportunities are provided to reflect on the practical organisational and societal challenges which impact respectful and effective leaders working across lines of difference.
