Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to evaluate the role of IoT in the modern world and its impact on various industries;
2.
be able to evaluate the current and emerging IoT technologies by examining their suitability for different applications;
3.
be able to analyse the various software and data management requirements for an IoT ecosystem;
4.
be able to propose and design IoT architecture for a given case study in a simulated environment; and
5.
be able to assess and reflect on the benefits, risks, and security implications of various IoT applications.
Assumed knowledge
Understanding of IT infrastructure concepts at the level of ITC540 and basic computer networking concepts at the level of ITC542
