Identifying gaps in the literature.Advanced research methods and techniques.Application of different research approaches.Advanced empirical research methods.Ethical issues in the proposed field of study.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to independently and systematically explore an area of research within IT and how it interrelates with other IT issues;
2.
be able to analyse and critique a range of controversial issues drawn from literature related to the area of research;
3.
be able to demonstrate advanced academic writing skills;
4.
be able to compare and contrast research methods in IT;
5.
be able to identify ethical issues around a research problem.

It is assumed students will have knowledge equivalent to ITC535
