Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

describe the bio-medical/individualised and social models of health and discuss the use and implications of these for human services practice in various health settings

demonstrate critical awareness of social determinants of health including the impacts and complexity of poverty, discrimination and inclusion, on health and wellbeing
3.
identify and discuss health and wellbeing issues, including disabilities, associated with different stages of development throughout the lifespan
4.
identify, discuss and form a beginning critique of social constructions of disability and ageing
5.
identify and describe human service roles relevant to different health settings
