Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

Critically examine and apply bio-psycho-social and cultural perspectives to age related physical, psychological and cognitive changes experienced by older adults.

Identify and evaluate the differences between age-related cognitive and physical changes in healthy ageing from those associated with illness.

Apply knowledge of preventive strategies to minimise health risks to older adults.

Critically analyse the socio-cultural context and health and well-being implications of family/informal care.
