Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to explain the history and evolution of the superannuation policy framework;
2.
be able to research recent developments in superannuation policy and analyse the impacts of changes across the industry;
3.
be able to effectively articulate the rules and requirements for establishing and administering superannuation funds and self-managed superannuation funds;
4.
be able to interpret and explain the complex sets of rules determining the taxation of superannuation contributions, earnings and withdrawals;
5.
be able to analyse, evaluate and provide recommendations to clients on the use of the superannuation system to plan and save for their retirement, including critically evaluating the retirement income streams to gain a tax free retirement.
