Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills required in the examination, diagnosis and treatment planning of advanced prosthodontic cases;
2.
be able to demonstrate current scientific evidence-based knowledge of the applied dental material science in prosthodontic practice;
3.
be able to demonstrate knowledge of the clinical and laboratory stages in the construction of complete and partial removable dental prostheses;
4.
be able to demonstrate laboratory skills in removable prosthodontics at an advanced level and pre-clinical practical simulation skills involved in the preparation of multiple-unit partial fixed dental prostheses;
5.
be able to demonstrate an understanding of simple concepts in Implant Dentistry and knowledge of the clinical parameters involved in the examination, diagnosis and treatment planning of cases requiring dental implant based prosthodontic treatment; and
6.
be able to demonstrate knowledge of the clinical and laboratory stages in the fabrication of simple partial fixed dental prostheses.
