Syllabus

This Industry internship will cover the following topics: Introduction and guidance regarding industry internships;Learning in the workplace;Workplace culture - effect on the development and management of human resources;Preparing a business overview; andIdentification of issues and opportunities in the workplace and formulation of solutions.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
analyse and contextualise aspects of workplaces they encounter including; Work, Health and Safety, workplace culture, Human Resource management, leadership and management, and operations
2.
identify issues and opportunities within a business/organisation and formulate and communicate appropriate solutions; and
3.
research, identify and utilise theory to better understand observations made of a workplace.

Assumed knowledge

Students are assumed to have at least completed the first 2 years (full-time equivalent) of their course.
