Syllabus

As professional placements may be undertaken in any of a variety of settings (public health, forensic institutions, educational organisations, private practices etc), the specific content of the placement will be negotiated between the external placement supervisor and the student, and will be approved by the School of Psychology's Placement Coordinator

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to demonstrate applied knowledge of theories of psychopathology;
2.
be able to demonstrate proficiency in applied psychological assessment;
3.
be able to demonstrate proficiency in diagnosis and case formulation;
4.
be able to demonstrate proficiency in the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions, and the conduct of appropriate evaluation of outcome;
5.
be able to conduct practice in accordance with professional and ethical standards;
6.
be able to critically appraise and interpret research evidence to guide professional practice in psychology; and
7.
investigate a substantive research question in professional psychology.
