Syllabus

The subject will cover the following topics:  Module 1 – National Health Priority areas: chronic disease in the podiatric context. Module 2 – Diabetes: aetiology and pathophysiology; the diabetes pandemic; neurovascular, dermatological, and biomechanical complications of diabetes; impact on foot health, mobility, and independence; diabetes management. Module 4 – Chronic disease management: enabling culturally responsive and culturally safe podiatry practice; working in partnership with people, community and organisations for health promotion to improve health outcomes for First Nations peoples living with chronic disease; exploring opportunities to create partnerships in health care to enable health promotion in chronic disease management.
