This subject prepares students for their transition to practice as a registered nurse. Different models of care are examined, together with the composition of health systems and the role of the registered nurse in local, regional, national and global contexts. Students also develop strategies to support their own professional development as registered nurses and the role of nurses as leaders.

This subject will cover the following topics:

• Module 1: Preparing for work and/or at work as a registered nurse;
• Module 2: Models of care;
• Module 3: Transitioning to practice; and
• Module 4: Professional Comportment.
