Introduction to cyberethics.Ethical concepts and theories.Critical thinking and logical arguments.Professional ethics and moral responsibility.Privacy in cyberspace.Intellectual property.Regulation of cyberspace.The impact of IT on society.Emerging technologies and ethics.AI Ethics: An Indigenous perspective

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to identify ethical issues related to cybertechnology;
2.
be able to assess the implications of ethical problems;
3.
be able to critically evaluate solutions to ethical problems;
4.
be able to apply ethical theories to ethical problems;
5.
be able to argue consistently and rationally about the moral issues raised by the adoption and use of cybertechnology;
6.
be able to analyse ethical problems from the point of view of information and communication technology (ICT) professionals using the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Code of Ethics; and
7.
be able to analyse various ethical impacts of AI from an Indigenous perspective, with a focus on data sovereignty, digital divide and AI algorithmic bias.
