This subject examines a selection of contemporary issues in the operation of the industrial relations framework for addressing the challenges facing workforces in Australia, amidst changing competitive and wider social pressures.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

be able to explain some of the current challenges facing the operation of the Australian industrial relations framework;
2.
be able to critically analyse a selection of current issues in Australian industrial relations;
3.
be able to analyse the application of these issues to students' own organisations and/or workplace experiences and for their professional practice;
4.
be able to synthesise and integrate multiple perspectives to evaluate the impact of current issues on the workplace; and
5.
be able to communicate information to a range of stakeholders on workplace policy, practices, risks or issues.
