Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to construct a critical position on how social and political trends have shaped the National Assessment Program;
2.
be able to explain multiple ways to assess and inform student learning;
3.
be able to explain the role of feedback on student learning;
4.
be able to explain the role of moderation and apply standards to form consistent and comparable judgements;
5.
be able to research, analyse and interpret student data to evaluate student learning and plan subsequent teaching practice to improve student outcomes; and
6.
be able to discuss a range of strategies for reporting on student achievement and engaging parent/carer support in the educative process.

The following subject is assumed knowledge for those students enrolled in the Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) course: EMS406 Science and Technology Curriculum Studies.
