<p>Students participate in a clinical placement program in the provision of clinical care in varied settings in regional NSW. Each clinical site will have students providing dental care under supervision. Clinical learning is reinforced by means of case analyses, case reviews and clinical session reviews by clinical staff.</p>

undertake and abide by the full range of duties and responsibilities of a dentist in accordance with professional, ethical and legal requirements as defined by the Dental Board of Australia.

manage the decision-making and provision of acute-care treatment as required in a clinical setting; and

demonstrate competent comprehensive treatment planning;

identify and discuss the scope of oral/dental health needs of different societal and cultural groups within rural and regional communities;

demonstrate competence in the provision of treatment for patients with multidisciplinary needs;

 Students will complete 36 weeks of clinical placement (3 x 12-week placements - 7 hours per day). Students will be rostered to complete clinical placement at Charles Sturt Dental Clinics in Dubbo, Bathurst, Wagga Wagga and Albury. In addition, at least one of the 3 x 12-week placements will be at an external site which may include an Aboriginal Medical Service or Local Area Health District dental clinic.
