Periodontics;Complex restorative dentistry;Local anaesthetics;Simple pain relief procedures;Clinical endodontics;Exodontia;Clinical Removable prosthodontics;Applied dental materials;Ethics and professionalism;Infection control;Occupational health and safety;Simple clinical fixed prosthodontics;Introduction to periodontic and surgical procedures;Caries management; andOcclusion.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge required for the examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and management of prosthodontic, endodontic, advanced restorative, advanced periodontic and exodontia cases;
2.
be able to demonstrate the ability to perform laboratory procedures required at various stages in the fabrication of the prostheses for patient work;
3.
be able to demonstrate practice time management skills in the clinical environment and operate ethically and professionally when delivering patient care; and
4.
be able to analyse patients' expectations, desires and attitudes when planning and delivering treatment, and propose the least invasive therapy, based on sound evidence-based principles, necessary to gain a successful outcome for the patient.

Placement Duration 345 hours Details Students will be timetabled to attend the Charles Sturt Dental Clinic in either the Orange or Bathurst on a weekly basis and will complete, under supervision, the clinical examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and management of a range of dental cases. 35 days (approx 345hrs)
