Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics: Biophysical agricultural production systems;Value chains operation;Social factors affecting agriculture production;Dimension of food security;Global food production and utilisation; and Global trade and food policy.

Assessment items

1. Develop a systems map demonstrating biophysical interactions in an agricultural production system of choice.
2. Present how value chains and social factors affect a specific agricultural production system
3. For a particular country develop a report that describes the current food security and develop possible solutions for overcoming food insecurity
