Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

be able to define the role of accountants and explain how accounting and utilising critical thinking can assist decision-making and add value to organisations;
2.
be able to analyse and interpret a range of accounting and financial transactions and reports;
3.
be able to implement various management accounting tools and techniques in making business decisions;
4.
be able to identify and describe sources of business finance;
5.
be able to use computer software to assist in the preparation of business information and be able to generate and analyse a range of business results and reports;
6.
be able to employ research and report writing skills;
7.
be able to contextualise and evaluate accounting information for ethical decision making purposes including sustainable accounting; and
8.
be able to explain the importance of ethics in accounting and the accounting profession.
