Handbook

This subject introduces students to the application of assessment principles in order to inform physiotherapy management, including the use of e-health digital technologies for rural and remote physiotherapy practice in particular. Students will learn the principles of goal setting and client education for basic health conditions. Students will develop their skills in interprofessional practice by beginning to consider other health professional roles in client care. Students will begin to learn about the role of physiotherapists across the lifespan and basic principles of human development. This subject will also enable students to further develop their understanding of the business of physiotherapy in local and global settings and sustainable practice in the context of physiotherapy.

This subject will cover the following topics:

• Appropriate and safe selection and delivery of physiotherapy management
• Physiotherapy management using e-health digital technologies such as telehealth for people in rural and remote communities
• Principles of collaborative SMART goal setting
• Principles of client education and skills in teaching peers and clients
• Principles of teamwork
• Impacts of common health conditions upon function and living
• Basic principles of human development across the lifespan
• The business and sustainable practice of physiotherapy in global contexts
