In this subject, students will undertake a research project in an appropriate field of research, under the guidance of the supervisory team.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
demonstrate an advanced level body of knowledge in the relevant field and a capacity to critically reflect on that knowledge and its application/s;
2.
develop a research hypothesis or question that is soundly embedded in the context of the current body of knowledge in the field;
3.
demonstrate advanced knowledge of research principles and methods applicable to their field of research;
4.
demonstrate cognitive, technical and creative skills to investigate, analyse and synthesise complex information, problems and concepts and theorise and apply established theories to different bodies of knowledge and practice;
5.
disseminate their research via a range of media, and be able to coherently defend their work, to specialist and non-specialist audiences; and
6.
apply knowledge and skills to plan and execute a piece of research that generates a substantial contribution to the field in the form of a research thesis.
Enrolment restrictions
This subject is available only to students enrolled in an appropriate Master by research degree in the School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare Sciences with the approval of the Research Advisory Committee.
