The subject explores the installation, configuration, and management of VMware vSphere virtualization software. The subject will help students prepare to take the examination to become a VMware Certified Professional.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to understand the basics of VMware virtualisation technology;
2.
be able to install and configure VMware virtualisation products such as ESXi and vCenter Server;
3.
be able to deploy and manage virtual machines in a VMware vSphere environment;
4.
be able to manage security permissions and user access to the VMware infrastructure;
5.
be able to monitor resource usage using vCenter Server; and
6.
be able to manage higher availability and data protection using vCenter Server.
