Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
Formulate and apply a conceptual understanding of stress and/or stress management;
2.
Engage critical thinking and intellectual independence in the application of stress-related theories and empirical findings to real world scenarios;
3.
Formulate and apply a conceptual understanding of trauma and trauma related disorders;
4.
Evaluate the social, cultural, and systemic context in which stressful and traumatic events occur and the language that frames understandings of these phenomena; and
5.
Critically analyse the impact of trauma on emergency services and human services personnel.
