Abstract

This subject is a capstone subject in the Bachelor of Laws. It addresses the classification of regional, rural, remote and very remote areas and particular legal and social issues that are relevant to regional, rural, remote and very remote Australia, and to First Nations communities. It covers topics such as legal need and access to legal services, the legal assistance sector, Indigenous law and culture, sovereignty and legal pluralism, and includes a focus on preparing for practice by investigating professional skills for legal practice, innovation and entrepreneurship, career planning and development.
