Tools for empowerment, inspiration and enablement;Learning theory;Mentorship;Causes of unhealthy workplaces;Conflict resolution;Workforce planning processes;Recruitment requirements - position descriptions, interviewing, working with Human Resource departments and systems; andStaff retention.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

be able to evaluate their own practices for empowering, inspiring and enabling others;

be able to identify and evaluate techniques for improving staff performance in high-pressure work environments;
3.
be able to mentor staff and colleagues;
4.
be able to reflect on personal experiences with workplace conflict and develop a conflict resolution plan;
5.
be able to create a plan for educating staff by drawing on an understanding of learning theory;
6.
be able to develop and justify a workforce plan that aligns with key organisational planning documents and addresses skill mix, budget, staff retention, succession planning and risk assessment; and
7.
be able to create a flowchart that represents staff recruitment.
