Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
discuss the influence of physical activity and fitness on dimensions of health, wellness, and quality of life;
2.
understand how the Adult Pre-exercise Screening System (APSS) is used to evaluate risk and prescribe exercise
3.
select and implement suitable exercise assessments to appraise targeted components of fitness;
4.
apply training principles to adapt a short-term individualised exercise programme for apparently healthy adults
5.
demonstrate a variety of physical conditioning activities with technical proficiency; and
6.
apply coaching principles for teaching movement and exercise technique during individual and group exercise sessions.
