Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
describe the structural organisation and the regulartory functions of the endocrine system;
2.
describe the anatomical structures and describe the function of the cardiovascular system;
3.
outline the anatomy of the lymphatic system and the role this system plays in immune function;
4.
outline the structure and function of the respiratory system and explain the mechanics of respiration;
5.
describe the anatomy and physiology of the urinary system and role of this system in the maintenance of water, electrolyte and acid-base balance;
6.
outline the anatomical structures and describe the functions of the digestive system;
7.
explain the anatomical and functional relationships between nutrition, metabolism and temperature regulation in the human body;
8.
outline the anatomical and physiological functions of the male and female reproductive systems; and
9.
explain the role of homeostasis and the integration of various system within the human body with relevant examples.
