Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
critically evaluate and justify the evidence based practices, interventions, and management relating to the care of paediatric, obstetric, and older patients;
2.
critically analyse the underlying pathophysiological processes of life threatening and commonly encountered conditions in paediatric, obstetric and older patients with reference to the specific anatomical and physiological differences for each population; and
3.
apply a knowledge of pharmacology, including specific pharmacological considerations for paediatric, obstetric and elderly patients, to the selection and administration of medications.

Restricted to students enrolled in postgraduate paramedic study.
