Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
be able to discuss the historical and policy foundations of contemporary approaches to public health, including "New Public Health", from global, national and local perspectives;
2.
be able to identify sources of epidemiological information, and apply and evaluate epidemiological concepts and techniques;
3.
be able to interpret epidemiological data to identify a local community public health need;
4.
be able to justify, plan and evaluate a service response to a local public health need, drawing on epidemiological information; and
5.
be able to critique the public health dimensions of health management practice.
