This subject will consider a range of digital technologies which influence learning, methods for gathering data about learning, and ways of improving and/or expanding learning using digital technologies. Students will explore and develop a range of digital technology methods for assessing the educational needs of learners, and be confident in selecting appropriate courseware to meet learners' needs. The subject provides opportunities for students to use a range of software in assessment and diagnosis to support learning.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

be able to discuss the contemporary role of digital technologies in a socio-political context;

be able to evaluate the nature and purpose of using digital technologies for learning;

be able to plan quality learning experiences across a range of educational scenarios and contexts using digital technologies;and

be able to evaluate software and hardware resources for learning experiences across a range of educational scenarios and contexts.
