Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
1.
identify and appraise how transformational leadership can contribute to change through education;
2.
critically appraise the influence of the health care system, the clinical environment and models of care on teaching and learning in the clinical setting;
3.
critically appraise the effect of teaching and learning initiatives in the clinical setting;
4.
identify and appraise the role of reflection in professional practice;
5.
critically appraise the theories, methods and models of critical reflection;
6.
utilise critical reflection to initiate strategies to improve clinical teaching and learning;
7.
identify, appraise and implement models of clinical supervision, preceptorship, clinical companion, mentoring and clinical facilitation;
8.
identify and apply continuing professional development opportunities which meet professional learning needs and contributes to professional practice in clinical education;
9.
utilise strategies to provide evidence of continuing professional education; AND
10.
demonstrate competence in the use of computer technology in teaching and learning.
